Hannon Armstrong, an Annapolis-based investment firm, has donated $150,000 donation to nonprofits stretched thin by the coronavirus pandemic.
The money will be split by the Maryland Food Bank, the YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County and the Light House Shelter, Hannon Armstrong said in announcing the donation Wednesday. It will support efforts to address rising food insecurity, domestic violence incidents and support for homeless prevention programs in Annapolis.
“This pandemic is a constant reminder of our shared humanity, and how we must respond with deep empathy, solidarity, and generosity,” Hannon Armstrong Chairman and CEO Jeff Eckel said in a statement released by the company. “We are all in this together, and in these unprecedented times, we are committed to providing our local community with essential resources. It is simply the right thing to do, and I applaud other Maryland business leaders for their donations to relief efforts that will make a difference in this time of pain and suffering.”
